Hand numbered edition made in Japan.

This exceptional yarn dyed kasuri worsted wool check was originally developed in the 1990's by a legendary textile designer based in Ichinomiya, Japan. I have been fortunate enough to visit his archive and was struck immediately when I first came across a small swatch of this cloth. Beginning with Australian merino wool, the kasuri (ikat) dye process results in an irregular check pattern - woven loosely with a gauze structure and then washed to tighten the weave for a puckered texture. The resulting cloth is a rather airy, light weight worsted wool with a very dry hand - a transitional three season cloth.
Justin is 5'11" and wearing a size medium, Nile is 5'7" and wearing a size extra small.
Spot clean or dry clean only.
