An over-shirt with french seams, cuff taper option, YKK metal tack buttons with leather washers, slightly dropped chest pockets with hidden button closure, curved collar tips and an invisible placket.

Hand numbered edition made in California.

This garment was over-dyed by hand in the iron rich soil of Amami Oshima (Japan). Referred to as mud dye, this process relies on multiple passes through a two step process - first the garment is soaked in a concentrate of boiled local wood chips (for high tannin content) before dyeing in the iron rich mud. The combination can create browns, purples, and even blacks that prove to be durable against washing and heavy use.

Base fabric description: Medium weight dark taupe colored cotton corduroy woven in Japan. A unique smokey/charcoal/dark taupe color with a slight faded or vintage appearance as a result of a special dye process. The rows have a bit of irregularity to them from the narrower, older looms that give the cloth added warmth and character. 100% cotton.
Hand or machine wash cold with dark colors, tumble dry low heat or hang dry. If hand washing, do not soak.
