A wide, slightly cropped straight leg pant featuring an internal elastic waistband which allows for a relaxed fit in the seat and hip, on-seam front pockets, single ‘modified welt’ pocket on back right side, french seams, corozo buttons, clean finish button fly and single needle belt loops.

The Elastic Pant offers a wider leg in comparison with the more jean-like Four Pocket Pant, and the more tapered shape of the Single Pleat Pant.

Hand numbered edition made in Japan.

A medium weight corduroy blending cotton and linen to achieve a slightly dry hand and more irregular texture. Woven in Wakayama, Japan - this pile weave was then cut in Shizuoka by one of the last remaining corduroy cutters in all of Japan. The cloth was piece dyed using a blend of natural sumi ink and Oeko-Tex certified dye in Okayama. The dyeing process also contributes to the dry touch that will continue to soften overtime with repeated washing and wear.

Nestled into the banks of the Asahi River that runs through Okayama, this larger scale dye house specializes in one discipline; piece dyeing, or the dyeing of fabric after it's woven.

An unassuming cluster of warehouse structures conceals a mysterious world of color alchemy and idiosyncratic machinery. The immense scale of space and hyper specific decades old equipment exhibiting the heavy patina of time impart a Jules Verne-like quality to the humble spaces.

As a result of this history and wealth of experience the craftspeople at this mill are able to execute machine sumi dyeing to the highest level - achieving consistency in tone and depth across hundreds of meters of cloth.
