As part of an ongoing project to utilize all of the fabric scraps left on the cutting room floor from our clothing production - we continue to work with local Bay Area handweavers to create rugs from remnant cloth.
The irregular shapes left behind from garment patterns are cut into long strips and stitched together by machine, before winding around the shuttle. In the warp, a cotton yarn holds the weft strips together.
Currently available in a smaller size suitable for a home entrance - other sizes or stripe variations can be made on request. These images document the making of a special commission using fabrics from the fall of 2023 to make larger rugs for the fitting rooms at Glasswing, our stockist in Seattle.
